New Wheelchair Ramp for Housebound Homeowner
July 8th, 2023
BEFORE

We finished up a wheelchair ramp this afternoon – thank to the great help of Harry, Walt and Xavier. Special thanks to Harry who was available to help finish it up today. The homeowner told us that he hasn’t been out of the house by himself for over two years. The homeowner couldn’t wait to get outside to try it out. It was a special moment for him and us also. Thanks, as always, to the Agency for Community Transit for your continued support.
Aluminum Wheelchair Ramp with Deck Addition!

BEFORE
AFTER
Well, we finished up another wheelchair ramp this afternoon. This is the 4th ramp so far this month (and it is only the 9th of July)! We built a small deck so that we could re-use an aluminum wheelchair ramp that one of our homeowner’s didn’t need anymore. It turned out nice and the homeowner is very pleased. Thanks to the homeowner for donated the aluminum ramp back to us and, as always, thanks to the Agency for Community Transit for your continued support.
Rotting Deck Replacement and Wheelchair Ramp

We just got done with a huge project. We partnered with Mountains to Molehills on this project to provide a homeowner a safe deck and wheelchair ramp. The old deck looked a lot better than it actually was. If you look through the demo pictures, you’ll see that it was not set in concrete and the joists were rotting, as well as most of the decking. This was a really big project. We had to extend the concrete for a landing pad as we finished up the ramp.
I had the honor and privilege of working this project with some of the best, hardest working guys you could ever meet. Thanks to Mountains to Molehills and, as always, thanks to the Agency for Community Transit for your continued support.
Home Safety Projects for Local Senior
July 24th, 2023
Thanks to folks from Home Depot who came out and helped with these projects for a local senior. Everything turned out great. We installed new railings for the front steps and added trim, caulk, and paint to the door frame. We also installed new lattice for the crawlspace under the house. The homeowner was in tears; she was so thankful. Go #teamdepot.

We did a quick project this morning in between raindrops. The homeowner had broken her storm door with her motorized scooter and asked if we can fix it – we ended up replacing the whole screen door.

It was a hot one today…102 degrees by the gauge in the truck. Thanks to Aidan for coming out and helping tear out and rebuild two sets of stairs, including the stringers, railings and a porch also. The homeowner was thrilled.
Rotting Stairs Replacement

We did a quick repair project this morning. The steps didn’t have a center stringer and were starting to sag and rot. So, we tore them out, added a center stringer and replaced the stairs. It is much sturdier now with a center support.
While we were working on this project the mailman came by and told us about another senior widow a few houses down the street who had her porch falling down. We normally don’t go looking for work, but it looked pretty bad, so look for those pictures in the future.
