New Bathroom Floor for a Local Homeowner
October 1st, 2024
Sorry for the blurry picture, but trust us, it turned out great. We installed a new bathroom floor for a local homeowner. We originally installed two new bathroom faucets and fixed the bathroom vents. When we saw that the floor was not finished in one bathroom, we went back and put in a new floor for her.

30 Foot Wheelchair Ramp!
October 2nd, 2024
We managed to get this 30 foot wheelchair ramp done in between the storms that have rolled through our area. Thanks to the tremendous help from Rick, the homeowner’s son-in-law, the project went amazingly well. Thanks to the Agency for Community Transit for your continued support.

Deck, Stairs, & Wheelchair Ramp Project
October 4th-7th, 2024
We’ll post more pictures when it’s finished but check out the progress of this deck/stairs/wheelchair ramp. The porch was sinking in so much, it was unusable. We broke up the concrete slab and dug down about 4 feet to get to where the ground would support our posts. For one corner alone, we used over 200 pounds of concrete to ensure that it was stable.
This project is turning out amazing.
Thanks to John for all of your help on this project and also to the Housing Assistance Council for supporting our outreach to Veterans that live in more rural communities.
As promised, here are the pictures from the huge project that we just finished up. Thanks to Lori from Olin Winchester, John and his son Hayden. We could not have done this project without all of your help. And a special thanks to our sponsors for this project: Housing Assistance Council, who made it possible for us to help out this local veteran.

Complete Deck Rebuild
October 8th, 2024
BEFORE
AFTER
With the amazing help of Olin Winchester volunteers, who each took a day of vacation to come out and help, we were able to get this big deck project completed.
To say that the previous deck wasn’t built to code is a huge understatement…the posts were set on bricks and pavers instead of concrete piers, the joists were too far apart – not to mention that they were rotting out – and the decking itself was also rotting out.
Thanks again to Karen, Chuck and Paul who made this a really fun project to work on.

Deck Tear Down and Rebuild
October 11th, 2024
This week we completely tore down a rotting deck and rebuilt it. It was really unsafe for the homeowner. Many thanks to the Edwardsville Community Foundation for partnering with us to make a difference for our neighbors who need a helping hand.
Thanks also to Curt from Olin Winchester, who came out today and helped finish up the project.

Projects Completed in this Beautiful Fall Weather
October 19th, 2024
We were able to finish up a couple of projects with the nice weather we’ve been having. We installed an aluminum wheelchair ramp for a 95-year-old Veteran today. He was thrilled with being able to safely get in and out of his home. We also built handrails for a local homeowner who was also having a difficult time getting in and out of her home. Thanks as always to the Agency for Community Transit for enabling us to provide these wheelchair ramps to our community. You can help our neighbors in need by making a donation today. Custom Wheelchair Ramp for Homeowner’s Son
October 23rd, 2024
This project is for a homeowner’s son who is confined to a wheelchair. After spending over 5 months in ICU, he has been released to be taken care of at home. The problem, of course, is that there was no way to get him in and out of the house safely. So, using every inch of yard space we could, we built him this wheelchair ramp. Every house is different, so we have to customize each ramp to the unique space we have to work with. Thanks to the Agency for Community Transitfor your continued support.
