Making a Difference with Wheelchair Ramps

October 7th, 2023

I’m behind in my posting, but here’s a couple more wheelchair ramps that we’ve done the past week or so. Thanks to Gateway Family Church, Scott Air Force Base/EOD team, and others who helped make such a difference in these homeowner’s lives. And, as always, thanks to the Agency for Community Transit for your continued support.

Our 30th Wheelchair Ramp of the Year

October 11th, 2023

BEFORE

AFTER

We completed our 30th wheelchair ramp today. A 30-foot ramp for a senior citizen, who had fallen down the stairs several times and injured himself. His children called us to see if we could help with this home modification to help him stay independent. Thanks to the Agency for Community Transit for your continued support.

Miscellaneous Home Repairs with Edwardsville Community Foundation

October 12th, 2023

Thanks to the Edwardsville Community Foundation for their generous support – we were able to help this local neighbor in need with several of their home repairs. We were able to install a new garbage disposal and fix the plumbing in the kitchen sink, replace a broken window, seal and paint a mold-stained wall, and reinforced and installed new decking.

THREE Wheelchair Ramps in FIVE Days

October 17th, 2023

Thanks to some incredible volunteers at Olin Winchester and other places, we were able to build three (3) wheelchair ramps in the past five days. One for a senior who has been described as the “best human on the planet,” and the other two ramps were for senior veterans. Thanks to the many amazing volunteers who worked tirelessly to get these projects done, and thanks to the Agency for Community Transit for your continued support.

Ramps & Home Improvements

October 28th, 2023

We’ve been busy in the past week. We built two more wheelchair ramps, finished someone’s bathroom ceiling, fixed some stairs and patched a deck. Thanks to the great folks at Home Depot #teamdepot for coming out and building a ramp for a local veteran. And thanks to so many other volunteers that helped us with these other projects. As always, thanks to the Agency for Community Transit for your continued support. This makes 35 wheelchair ramps that we have built so far this year.
